Ann Margaret Morehouse

Ann Margaret Morehouse age 104 of Appalachee Circle Tavares, Florida passed away at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares after a short illness.

Ann was born July 31, 1912 in Munkbrarup, Germany. Her parents came to the United States in 1913 leaving her with friends because she was ill and could not be brought into the U.S. She came to the U.S. when she was 10 years of age with a young girl that was going to marry her uncle. She went to Oklahoma where her parents had settled at the time. She had two older brothers, Henry and Albert and several more siblings when she arrived. She ended up being the only girl of eight children in the family. Around 1926 the family moved to Westfield and became dairy and grape farmers.

She worked for many years as a waitress in Pinter's Restaurant in Westfield and did housekeeping for several families. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, her pets and traveling (going to Europe three times). She moved to Florida in 1968 and lived almost half of her life in Central Florida with her daughter and family.

She was married to Harold Morehouse and had three children, one being stillborn, a daughter Shirley Ann Graham (Nick) and a son Frederick (Butch) Morehouse (Kay). She had three grandchildren, Stephen, Jon and Lori; three great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, husband, and brothers, Henry, Albert, William, Herman, Walter, Alfred and Arthur Riedesel. Also preceded in death by son Frederick, and grandson Jon.

Memorial service was held on June 4 at 4 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 18934 State Road 44-B, Eustis, Florida.
