Ken Hardley to Appear on Fresh Perspectives

Gail Erb, host of Fresh Perspectives, will have guest Ken Hardley on the program. Hardley is with Rolling Hills Radio. The show will air Saturday, January 21 through Friday, January 27 at 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM each day.

Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on channel 5 with a cable converter or on 5.3 on digital televisions without a cable converter.

Chautauqua Lecture Series to Appear on Access Channel 5

Access Channel 5 will be airing the 2016 Chautauqua Institution lecture series.

The following lecture will start on Saturday, January 21 with the last airing on Friday, January 27:

7:00 AM and 11:00 PM - John Shelby Spong "Judas Iscariot: Myth or History."

Justin Hanft to Appear on Chautauqua Sunrise

Chautauqua Sunrise will feature Justin Hanft as the guest on January 21. The topic is "Dream It, Do It."

Host Doc Hamels will conduct the program. The program airs live from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday morning and is rebroadcast daily until Friday at 2:00 and 8:00 PM for some communities. The guest is subject to change.

Chautauqua Sunrise is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. Channel numbers shown are for subscribers using a cable converter. Digital channels for televisions without a converter will vary by community. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Cassadaga Wind Farm Hearing to Televise

Public Hearing comments on the proposed Cassadaga Wind Farm will be aired on Access Channel 5 at 12:35 PM and again at 6:35 PM each day from January 21 through January 27. Some 21 concerned citizens spoke to a 3-judge panel, for or against the project. EverPower Wind Holdings LLC is completing the final steps for a wind project of some 58 giant wind turbines (330 feet each) to be constructed over 40,000 acres of farm and recreation land in the towns of Cherry Creek, Charlotte, Arkwright and Stockton. Area residents expressed concerns over potential falling property values, sleep deprivation and other health impacts from noise and blade flicker, bat and bird kills etc. Union members praised the project, citing jobs that would be created. Public comments can be sent to secretary@dps.ny.gov until March 7, 2017. The January 9 meeting was filmed by Snowshoefilms, a Mayville-based film group.
