John M. “Jack” Brightman

MAYVILLE - John M. "Jack" Brightman, formerly of Mayville, died Friday (January 6, 2017) at UPMC Chautauqua WCA.

He was born August 15, 1950 in Warsaw, New York the son of the late John and Jane Hamilton Brightman.

Jack had been a computer programmer for Welch's in Westfield and also sold computers.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Jack was a member of the Mayville United Methodist Church, a past member of the Mayville Fire Department Rescue Squad, Habitat for Humanity, and Mayville Senior Citizens.

He was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School, Jamestown Community College, Alfred State University, and Rochester Institute of Technology.

Jack is survived by two daughters; Sally (Tom) Holcomb, Tiffany (Jason) Lecuyer, three sons; Tyler, Seth, and Trevor Edwards, two grandsons: Zachery and Bradon, and one brother; James (Lori) Brightman.

He was preceded in death by two aunts; Marguerite Brightman and Katherine Browne.

The funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, (January 11, 2017) at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Burial will be in North Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.

Memorials may be made to the Mayville United Methodist Church, 81 South Erie St, Mayville, NY 14757.
