Westfield’s Monday Night Club celebrates Christmas, friendship and local causes

December 7, 2016
Westfield Republican

The club's annual holiday party was held at the Westfield YWCA and hosted by members Tina Winslow and Marilyn Emery. The ladies enjoyed a delicious dinner as well as a lively social hour.

Westfield's Monday Night Club has a slogan that might be a bit deceiving. That slogan is "friends having fun with friends on Monday Night." Although the ladies feel that fun is an essential component to any activity, they also maintain a very significant element in their organization.

The group supports worthy causes primarily in the Westfield area. For many decades they have provided a WACS Senior Girl Award. At Christmas they donate to the Union Relief program for the underprivileged. Donations have been given to the Methodist Church Food Pantry, the Westfield Stray Cat Rescue, the WACS Post Prom Party, Reading Is Fundamental, American Cancer Society and the Westfield YWCA as well as other various causes. Funds come from club dues, member donations and various fund raising events.
