The Welch Field activities building is available for group rentals.

Concerts in the Park sponsors needed

The Westfield Recreation Department is looking for sponsors for the Concerts in Park series. It would like to continue this traditional and enjoyable family entertainment on summer evenings. Anyone interested in sponsoring one of the concerts should contact the Village of Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243.

Summer employment at the Welch Field

Individuals interested in applying for summer jobs at the recreation program or the pool can file an application at the Village of Westfield window in Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. For pool applications, a Life Guarding Certification is required. Telephone the office for more information at 326-4243.

Museums, Monuments and Memorials trip

The Westfield Recreation Department will be traveling to Washington, D.C., from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2. The price includes two night lodging, two breakfasts, two full-course dinners, the Smithsonian Institution, a tram tour at Arlington Cemetery, the memorials, guided sightseeing tour including The U.S. Capitol and Visitor's Center, U.S. Library of Congress, Air and Space Museum, Embassy Row, the National Cathedral and a visit to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Trip to the World War II Reenactment in Ohio

Join the Westfield Recreation Department for the largest D-Day Conneaut ever. With nearly 800 re-enactors from all over the U.S. and Canada, it has become one of the largest World War II re-enactments in the country. A one-day bus trip is planned to the World War II re-enactment in Conneaut, Ohio on Saturday, Aug. 17. The price is $25, but meals are separate. Attention walkers

Walkers are welcome to use the Eason Hall auditorium when it is available.

Help with yard work and odd jobs

Westfield residents needing help with yard work, snow shoveling and odd jobs are asked to call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243 and it will assist in arranging for a local teen to help.

Recreation department programs continue

Adult co-ed volleyball on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Westfield Academy and Central School half gym

Pilates on Monday and Wednesday at 5 p.m., in Eason Hall
