Jean B. Johnson, 81, of North Harmony passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Sigfred C. and Margaret Herbert Bernhard.
She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement years, she had been employed by the former Bengtson Grocery Store for many years. She had also worked for the former Jamestown Telephone Company and the McKallor Drug Company.

She will be remembered as such a loving, caring and happy person. She loved everyone as if they were her own family, especially her "club girls." She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, working in her flower garden and collecting clocks. She had a natural "green thumb" when it came to caring for her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed her home and spending time outdoors appreciating the wonders of Mother Nature and was especially fond of her dogs Molly and Polly.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie (Peter) Levinson of Lakewood, N.Y., and Jill (Michael) McFarland of Ellington, N.Y.; a grandson, Cal Edborg of Franklin, Mass.; a sister, Florence Christian of Jamestown; two nieces, Linda Murphy and Margaret Frankiewcz both of Jamestown; and two nephews, James and John Nelson both of Long Island, N.Y.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon J. Johnson whom she married July 28, 1951, and who died Sept. 26, 2012; and a sister, Janette Nelson.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16 in the Lind Funeral Home.
Friends were received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
