Donald H. Neckers, 89, formerly of North Rd., Findley Lake, N.Y., passed away peacefully at Absolut Care in Westfield, N.Y., on Feb. 28, 2013.

He and his wife of 63 years, Evelyn J. Sphon Neckers, who passed in November 2008, were lifelong residents of Findley Lake where they raised their children.

Son of Lephe and Henry Neckers, Don was also raised in Mina township. Don retired from General Electric in 1979, was a lifetime member of Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department and joined the Southtown Woodcarvers in Jamestown, N.Y., later in life. Don embraced nature and derived is greatest joys from fishing, gardening, camping and showing off his beautiful wooden animal carvings. He was very dedicated to his family and is fondly remembered by all for "tinkering in his shop," and his ability to fix anything with duct tape.
