STOW - Ryan J. Paletta, 25, of Dublin, Ohio was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday, Feb. 15.
According to the police office, a trooper pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 86 in Stow for speeding. While speaking to the driver, the trooper allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. As a result, the occupants were removed from the vehicle and searched. Paletta was arrested after the trooper allegedly located a bag containing four grams of marijuana and another bag containing capsules of liquid THC on Paletta's person. An additional 16 grams of marijuana cigarettes were allegedly located in the backseat area of the vehicle, and also determined to be Paletta's. Paletta was transported to the State Police barracks in Jamestown where he was processed. After posting bail, Paletta was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in North Harmony Town Court later in the month. The driver was issued a ticket for speeding.
NORTH HARMONY - Daniel M. Martino, 29, of W. First St., Corning, N.Y., was arrested on Monday, Feb. 18.
According to the police office, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the Town of North Harmony for tinted windows around 5:30 p.m. Upon interview of the driver, an odor of marihuana was allegedly detected. The trooper allegedly located a plastic baggie containing four grams of marihuana and arrested the driver, Martino. Martino was issued an appearance ticket returnable to North Harmony Town Court on a later date.
