Dorothy Rebuck Chesley, 95, of Findley Lake, N.Y., currently residing at Independence Court in Erie, Pa., passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.

Dorothy was born on July 24, 1917, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of Sheldon and Elizabeth Jones. Dorothy moved to Findley Lake, N.Y., in 1947 with her husband Frederick "Bud" Rebuck (1916 to 1950) and her two children Kathy and Sue. She then married Roy Chesley of Findley Lake in 1975 and remained in Findley Lake. Dorothy managed Montgomery Ward, worked for Swanson Erie, was an accountant for Winter Company and was an original employee for Peek 'n' Peak when the ski resort opened. At the time she worked for the Peak she didn't ski, however at age 55 she took up the sport and loved it very much, but loved the picnics at the lodge with her family even more.

She was an active member of the Findley Lake community hosting card club, attending services at the Findley Lake United Methodist Church and past member of the Eastern Star of Sherman, N.Y. Dorothy loved spending her free time antiquing. She could be found at Bell Valley or Perry Highway and Edinboro Antique Mall on any given weekend buying and selling collectibles. Even in recent years she enjoyed a healthy business of selling at the Findley Lake community yard sales. Dorothy was also a member of the Circle of Friends Relay for Life American Cancer Society team for 17 years. She also enjoyed painting and making crafts, but one of the things she looked forward to most was family vacations. She was affectionately known to many as Grandma Dorothy.
