RIPLEY - The Ripley Central School's Student of the Month for December was third grader Donna Hamrick.
"Having gratitude is an important quality to have. One student that we feel exhibits the quality of gratitude is Donna Hamrick," Donna's nominators Michele Lukasiak and Kathy Machemer said. "Donna is a student that is always the first to say thank you and uses her manners, not just in the classroom, but throughout the school. She shows appreciation after receiving help from other students and teachers. However, it is not just with words. She takes what a teacher says and learns from it. She listens and puts forth 100 percent effort to learn from every lesson and always tries her best. She appreciates learning and takes pride in all of her work. Donna also works well with her peers. She receives help and constructive criticism with ease.
"Donna exhibits the characteristic of gratitude daily. In addition, she also pays it forward. She takes any chance she can to help another student. She really radiates kindness, generosity, appreciation, and gratitude."
