JAMESTOWN - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County's 4-H Program has planned its second annual benefit dinner for Feb. 17.
As some may know, 4-H is only partially funded by the Chautauqua County Legislature. Therefore, it has become the responsibility of 4-H members and volunteers and the community to help the program continue. Robert Cross of 3 C's Catering, a 4-H volunteer and alumni, has donated his expertise for the "Have a Heart for 4-H dinner, from our family to yours," scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 17 from noon to 5 p.m. This year's dinner will be held at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds and Conference Center in Gerry, N.Y.
Everyone is invited to join in a day full of fun for a great cause. Generous support from 3 C's Catering will ensure a delicious meal including a selection of local farm fresh foods. There will also be music by Dan Warren of Media One Broadcasting and an opportunity to win a variety of prizes. 96 Kix Country will host silent style auctions during the benefit. In 2012, over 150 prizes were raffled. Come and support the Chautauqua County 4-H, the youth development program of Cornell Cooperative Extension. 4-H proudly serves over 500 youth with the assistance of over 150 volunteers.
Pre-sale benefit buffet dinner tickets are on sale now until Saturday, Feb. 16. Pre-sale cost is just $15 per dinner while children 5 and under are free. Tickets at the door will cost $20. Only 1,000 dinners will be sold.
The Chautauqua County 4-H is asking for monetary and food donations for the dinner and raffle items. Anyone or any business which may be able to help, or for more information, contact the 4-H office at Cornell Cooperative Extension 664-9502 ext. 214
Cornell Cooperative Extension is a not-for-profit 501(c)3, and all donations are a charitable contribution.
