Donald Dale McKillip of Ripley died unexpectedly on Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa.
He was born in Westfield on Dec. 27, 1947, to the late Merle W. and Edna (Bentley) McKillip. He was raised and educated in the Ripley school system. He married Stella (Atkinson) McKillip in Westfield on April 8, 2000, and they resided at the family farm on Wattlesburg Road in Ripley.
On Feb. 18, 1968, Donald joined the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant on July 1, 1990. He was an active member of the American Legion post in Westfield. Following his retirement, Donald worked for the DeMarco Tracking Company of Ripley as the parts manager. He also worked as a sales representative for Beckman Realty of Westfield.
Besides his loving wife Stella, Donald is survived by two daughters, Rachel (Darin) Clark of London, England, and Margaret (Ed) Fortner of Pepperall, Mass.; three sons, David McKillip of London, England, Matthew (Kimberly) Crye of Rome, N.Y. and Dr. Mark (Jessica) Crye of Carnegie, Pa.; three granddaughters, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by two brothers, Marshall (Juanita) McKillip of Ripley and Maurice McKillip of Westfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley with the Rev. Jeffery Rotunda, pastor of the South Ripley Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
Interment will be held privately at the request of the family.
