Mayville/Chautauqua Chamber holds annual banquet

MAYVILLE - The Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and banquet in November at Webb's Captains Table Restaurant in Mayville which served a banquet.

Guests in attendance were: Andy Cesarz and Bob Benjamin, accepting the Community Service Award on behalf of Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126; Kristie and Andy Brown of Home Chic, recipient of the Business Improvement Award; Ken Shearer, Mayville-Chautauqua Chamber President, and Jennifer Shearer, both of Chautauqua Marina; Ben Webb, Mayville-Chautauqua Chamber Board Member, and Amy Webb, of Webb's Year Round Resort; Bruce Stanton, Mayville-Chautauqua Chamber Board Member, and Laurie Stanton, of Athenaeum Hotel; James Barrett, Mayville-Chautauqua Chamber Board Member, of Northwest Savings Bank; Hugh Butler and Marsha Butler of Butler Systems Research and Design; Julianne Baraniewicz of Standard Portable; Mary Sue Pawlak; Erin Andersen and Sheila Webster of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce; John Rawlinson, Coordinator for the Westfield/Barcelona Community Chamber of Commerce; and Deborah Marsala, Coordinator for the Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce, and Larry Marsala.

Elected to the 2013 Board of Directors for three-year terms were Hugh Butler of Butler Systems Research and Design and James Barrett of Northwest Savings Bank. They will join fellow board members Ken Shearer of Chautauqua Marina, Ben Webb of Webb's Year Round Resort and Bruce Stanton of Athenaeum Hotel.

Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126 was the recipient of the 2012 Community Service Award presented at the Mayville-Chautauqua Community Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting and Banquet. The troop has participated in many service projects, including baseball dugouts and benches at Chautauqua Lake Central School, a soccer supply cabin, outdoor adult exercise equipment area at Lakeside Park in Mayville, holding an annual food drive benefiting the Mayville Food Pantry, as well as others. Chamber President Ken Shearer presented Scoutmaster Andy Cesarz and Assistant Scoutmaster Robert Benjamin with the award, who accepted on behalf of Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126.

Ken Shearer presented the 2012 Community Service Award to Mayville Boy Scout Troop 126 for giving back to the community through its many service projects, including an annual food drive benefiting the Mayville Food Pantry, baseball dugouts and benches at Chautauqua Lake Central School, a soccer field supply cabin, an outdoor adult exercise equipment area at Lakeside Park in Mayville, as well as many others. Accepting the award on behalf of the troop were Scoutmaster Andy Cesarz and Assistant Scoutmaster Robert Benjamin.

The 2012 Business Improvement Award was presented to Mayville business Home Chic. Owner Kristie Brown recently renovated a new location in Mayville in preparation for the businesses' move, creating an attractive and colorful atmosphere for the home dcor business, which features a new coffee and tea bar. They also just recently celebrated Home Chic's five-year anniversary.
