POMFRET - Amanda St. George, 25, of Brocton, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with blood-alcohol content of .08 or higher, and speed in zone on Dec. 8 at 11:53 p.m. Deputies observed a vehicle speeding south on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. St. George was found to be the operator of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, St. George was found to be intoxicated. She was issued traffic tickets and will appear in court at a later date.

RIPLEY - John D. Howser, 44, of 9 Boswell St., Ripley, was charged with speeding and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Dec. 14 at 8:50 p.m. A sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on East Sidehill Road. Upon further investigation, Howser was found to be driving with a suspended license for failure to pay child support. He was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets.
