WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of September.
The sixth grade recipient is Jordan Carlson. In school, Jordan enjoys his science class, as he likes the subject and plans to use this knowledge in the future. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting sports cards. In the future, Jordan hopes to continue to do well in school and become a scientist or a NASCAR driver.
Alec Stanley received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, he also enjoys his science class because the labs and activities are fun and interesting. As a hobby, he enjoys cars and learning about how engines work. One goal he has for the future is to become either an architect or a chef and have a job he enjoys.
At the eighth grade level, Hunter Howes received this honor. In school, he enjoys his language arts class because Mrs. Melissa Putney is very kind and helpful. Outside of the classroom, Hunter enjoys getting new shoes and using them to play a variety of sports. In the future, he hopes to continue to do well in school, get into a good college and be successful.
The Westfield School and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.
