The City of Jamestown Police Department in conjunction with the New York State Police at Jamestown conducted an underage drinking detail recently utilizing underage operatives attempting to purchase alcohol at area businesses. The following businesses were found to be in compliance with the New York State Alcohol Beverage and Control Law in regards to underage drinking: Lakeview Tavern, 13 Water St., Mayville; Cooler Caf, 114 W. Main St., Sherman; and Murdock's Bar, 100 E. Main St., Sherman.

Purchases were made by underage operatives at the following businesses, which will be referred to the Buffalo Office of the New York State Liquor Authority: Hartfield Bay Caf, 6040 E. Lake Rd., Mayville; and French Creek Tavern, 1614 French Creek-Mina Rd., Clymer.

As a result of the detail the following individuals were arrested for Prohibited Sale of an alcoholic beverage to a minor, violation of the ABC Law, Section 65-1: Lloyd Newhouse, age 47, of Mayville, two counts, issued an appearance ticket to appear in Chautauqua Town Court on Monday, Dec. 17; and Trudy L. Burchanowski, age 34, of Northeast, Pa., two counts, issued an appearance ticket to appear in French Creek Town Court on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
