Norma J. Buesink

Norma J. Buesink, 80, of Clymer, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, Pa.

She was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Randolph, N.Y., the daughter of the late Duard and Dorothy Olsen May.

Norma graduated from Corry High School in 1949 and Spencer Hospital Nursing School in 1952. Throughout her career, she worked at the Corry Hospital, Clymer Central School and the Corry Manor Nursing Home for 28 years, and she was always willing to help care for her neighbors when she was needed. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Corry, Pa., and was also a member of the Corry Country Club for over 50 years. Norma was also a devoted alumnus of the Corry Class of 49, getting together with her classmates at regular functions and reunions throughout the years. She especially enjoyed time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, William "Bill" Buesink of Clymer, N.Y., and Russell "Rusty" (Heidi) Buesink of Jamestown, N.Y.; a daughter, Kathy (Mark Roberts) Buesink of Clymer, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Brooke (Todd) Isaacson of Jamestown, N.Y., and Russell "JR" Buesink, Jr., of Jamestown, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Holland and Elin Isaacson; one brother, Robert "Bob" May of Corry, Pa; and her beloved dog, Toby.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Buesink who died on June 17, 2006, and whom she married Nov. 6, 1954, in Corry, Pa.; and her infant grandson, Brian Russell Buesink.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Clymer Hill Reformed Church with Rev. Erin Beckerink officiating. Burial was in Holland Cemetery. Friends were received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer, N.Y. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Clymer Volunteer Fire Depart PO Box 31, Clymer, N.Y. 14724.
