A pavilion for the Chautauqua Children's Safety Education Village in Ashville will be inaugurated by its builders, Westfield/Mayville Rotary Club members, on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.
Rotary member JB Dunn challenged the club to be a part of the village after hearing a presentation by the village's Executive Director Terri Kindberg in which it was mentioned Rotary had no presence there, according to club president John Hamels and president-elect Ben Spitzer, both education village board members.
Plans were underway by April, and many Rotary club members pitched in to build the pavilion, which will most likely be used as a place for all to relax and chat after visiting the village buildings.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour of the safety village grounds and buildings will be conducted.
