Ripley Free Library referendum passes

The general election was held Tuesday, Nov. 6, with the following unofficial results:

Harmony - William A. Lawson was elected town supervisor with 694 of 696 votes after running unopposed on the Republican Party line. Peter J. Radka was elected to the town council with 701 of 702 votes after running unopposed on the Republican Party line.

North Harmony - Howard E. Peacock was elected town justice with 899 of 902 votes after running unopposed on the Republican Party line.

Mina - Sherrie R. Tanner was elected town clerk with 436 of 436 votes after running unopposed on the Republican and Conservative party lines.

Ripley - Levern Gibson was elected town justice with 646 of 647 votes after running unopposed on the Democratic Party line. Andrew Knight was elected to the town council with 801 of 804 votes after running unopposed on the Democratic and Republican party lines. The referendum on whether $28,160, should be raised through property taxes for the Ripley Free Library Association for maintenance passed with 518 yes votes versus 311 no votes.
