MAYVILLE - Juan A. Garcia, 47, of Prospect Ave., Buffalo was committed to Chautauqua County Jail on charges of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first-degree promoting prison contraband on Thursday, Oct. 25.
According to the sheriff's office, Garcia was being booked into jail on an unrelated charge. During the booking procedure Garcia was found to allegedly be in possession of a considerable quantity of heroin which he had hid on his person. Garcia was charged with a Class B Felony for the heroin and an additional Class D Felony for promoting contraband. He was arraigned before Chautauqua Town Judge Narducci who set bail at $15,000 cash or $30,000 property and committed Garcia to jail. Further court proceedings will follow.
FORESTVILLE - Gregory Dzielski, 30, of Ellicott Rd., Brocton was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable and prudent, operating without insurance, fail to keep right and drove across hazard markings on Friday, Oct. 26.
According to the sheriff's office, it responded to Pearl St., in Forestville for the report of a personal injury car accident around 6:30 p.m. An investigation revealed Dzielski allegedly was operating a pick-up truck on Pearl St., when he drifted off the road, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Dzielski and a female passenger were both transported by ambulance to Brooks Hospital for their injuries. Dzielski was issued tickets and will answer the charges in Hanover Town Court. An investigation into the incident is on going, and other charges are pending.
FRENCH CREEK - Timothy R. Jones, 21, Pittsburgh was charged with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, unlicensed operator and unsafe turn without signaling on Sunday, Oct. 28.
According to the sheriff's office, patrol allegedly observed a vehicle make a U-turn in the intersection of Mann Rd. and Conway Rd., without signaling the movements around midnight. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was allegedly identified as Jones. Following an investigation, Jones was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged. Jones was found to have a suspended Pennsylvania driver's license. He was later released to appear in French Creek Town Court on a future date.
HARMONY - Scott E. McChesney, 22, of Panama was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of petit larceny and two counts of second-degree harassment on Monday, Oct. 29.
According to the sheriff's office, on Sunday, Oct. 28 deputies took a complaint around 10:30 p.m., from a Harmony resident concerning stolen and forged checks and an ongoing harassment issue. The victim alleges McChesney was subjecting them to harassment and stole checks. Monday at around 1:30 a.m., Deputies located McChesney and took him into custody. He was charged and arraigned in the Busti Town Court and sent to jail pending $1,000 bail.
