Fall is here and Thanksgiving is fast approaching. Once again, it is time for the annual Westfield Volunteer Fire Department's Turkey Party. The firefighters of Westfield will be hosting the event on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Fire Hall on Clinton Street. This year's proceeds, as well as Turkey Parties in the future, will now directly benefit the fire department of Westfield.
The proceeds of this year's fundraising event will be used towards purchasing needed equipment for the use of the firefighters on calls. The types of calls we respond to are very demanding on our equipment, and we are frequently in need of updating or replacing it. Currently, we are looking to replace or add equipment such as cold-water rescue suits - our current suits have been damaged beyond repair - a thermal imaging camera and safety gear. Through the efforts of the Board of Fire Commissioners and village office, the fire department now has its own designated general fund in which all fundraising money can be placed and then drawn from for the purchase of equipment or needs around the fire hall.
At this time, would you please consider a donation to the fire department as a main raffle prize or door prize? The donations can be items, gift cards or certificates for services. Your assistance in this endeavor will help us in continuing to provide services in our community to help protect you and your neighbors. Your continued support of the fire department of Westfield is greatly appreciated.
Contact Brad Szymczak at his home at 793-4686 or via his cell phone at 952-7042 with any questions or to arrange a donation pickup or drop off.
Thank you in advance for your donation. Your support directly impacts the entire community.
