Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride
The 29th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will be held on Saturday, Aug. 11, originating and finishing in front of the Eason Hall, 23 Elm Street in Westfield. The mass start begins at 9 a.m. Water and refreshment stops and sag wagon services are provided. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries postmarked after July 20 and the day of the ride are $20 and receive a Tour of Chautauqua water bottle. Call 326-4243 for more information.
Skate park hours
The Westfield Skate Park is currently open and supervised 40 hours each week Monday through Friday, based upon weather and surface conditions. The park is supervised for the safety of the skaters, many of whom are young. The park opens at 9:30 a.m., and closes at 6 p.m., which are also hours that have been chosen based upon frequency of usage. Helmets are required and a number are available for use at the park. Welch Field summer programs
The Welch Field summer recreation program for school-age kids began on Monday, June 25 at 9 a.m. Parents can still register their children at the program site when dropping their children off. For more information telephone the Welch Field Office at 326-4441.

Westfield residents needing help with yard work and odd jobs are asked to call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243 and it will assist in arranging for a local teen to help.
