FREDONIA - SUNY Fredonia recently announced the names of students who have been awarded scholarships for 2012-13. Scholarships are made possible by private donors and foundations, most of whom made gifts to the Fredonia College Foundation. Among those who have received scholarships are the following:
Ashville - Ashley Senske of Ashville, a junior majoring in history and minoring in communications, received two scholarships - the $600 David H. Carnahan Scholarship and the $500 Walter Gotowka Endowment Scholarship.
Dewittville - Julie Coleman of Dewittville, an incoming freshman who will begin majoring in communication this fall, has received the $2,000 Dean's Scholar Award.
Portland - Lori Dispenza of Portland, a junior psychology major, has received two scholarships - the $5,000 Smith-Viggiani Veterans Scholarship and the $500 SUNY Fredonia Veterans Scholarship.
Westfield - Rachel Quagliana of Westfield, an incoming freshman who will begin majoring in political science this fall semester, has received the $1,000 Welch's/National Scholarship.
BUFFALO - A local resident has been named to the Dean's List at Canisius College for the spring 2012 semester.
Class of 2013's Anne LaPorte of Westfield, awarded Dean's List, is a junior accounting major.
Approximately 15 percent of Canisius College undergraduate students qualified for the Dean's List.
