WESTFIELD — Brian M. Watkins, 33, of Lockport, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated (DWI), failure to keep right and failure to maintain lane on Monday, Aug. 22.
At 2:26 a.m., a Westfield Police Officer was on patrol on Academy Street in the village. The officer observed a vehicle cross the center line of the roadway and white fog line multiple times. Upon further investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Watkins, was allegedly found to be intoxicated.
This charge was a felony DWI due to Watkins having three DWI convictions in the past 10 years. Watkins was arraigned in Village of Westfield Court and bail was set at $8,000 cash or $15,000 property.
WESTFIELD — Eliezer Salome Cosme, 33, of Lord Street in Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and open container of alcohol in motor vehicle on Friday, Aug. 26.
Westfield police were dispatched to a vehicle complaint on Route 5. A vehicle was observed allegedly crossing the center line of Route 5 and was stopped. The driver identified himself as Cosme. Through standardized field sobriety testing and further investigation, it was determined that Cosme was allegedly intoxicated and was arrested for DWI. He refused to take a chemical test to determine the alcohol content of his blood and was subsequently arraigned in Westfield Town Court.
Cosme was sent to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail, which was set at $1,500 cash and $3,000 property.
