Education rallies planned in dozens of cities

December 8, 2013

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Monday is being billed as a national "Day of Action" among teachers and community groups worried about the state of public education.

Events, including rallies and press conferences, are scheduled in more than two dozen states, including New York.

Supporters are urged to wear blue in support of more funding for education and less reliance on testing to measure student progress.

In New York, events are planned in Nyack, Albany, Binghamton, Rochester, Syracuse, New York City, Yonkers and the Buffalo suburb of West Seneca.
