NEW YORK (AP) — One of the four passengers killed when a Metro-North Railroad train derailed is being remembered as a loyal friend and dedicated nurse.
A funeral was held Saturday in Queens for registered nurse Kisook Ahn. She is the final victim of the accident to be memorialized.
The 35-year-old Ahn was a Korean immigrant. She came to the U.S. in 2008 as part of an exchange program with a South Korean university and was awaiting her green card.
Authorities say she was returning home after the overnight shift at the Sunshine Children's Home and Rehab Center for severely ill children in Ossining (AHS'-uh-ning) when the train crashed.
Her family says she was pursuing her dreams in the U.S.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority says the affected track should be fixed by Sunday night.
