Movies In The Park
The Centerstage Dance Studio will present the pre-show entertainment for the Westfield Recreation Department’s Movies in the Park program on July 31 in Moore Park. Centerstage is operated by Ron and Emma Bishop. Emma is a former Radio City Music Hall Rockette. Centerstage presents dance recitals and concerts throughout the year featuring many local dancers and vocalists. The Bishops opened the dance studio after returning from NYC over 20 years ago and have been favoring us with wonderful performances since then. The pre-show will begin at approximately 8:00, weather permitting. The movie feature is a classic musical featuring many well known songs and award winning, innovative dance numbers. Prior to the Centerstage presentation , the Westfield Recreation Department’s Summer Drama Program will present a performance at 7:45 under the direction if Karin Cockram. Old First Night Run
Old First Night Run will take place at the Chautauqua Institution Sports Club. The distance is 2.7 miles and will cover the perimeter of the grounds. The cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt to the first 700 entrants. Admission to the grounds is free the morning of the race. Parking is located across the street. There will also be awards for age groups, runners and walkers. Walkers must predict their time. Call 357-6281 for more information.
