Babe Ruth Softball Sign-Ups

14U and 16U Westfield/Ripley Babe Ruth Girls Softball sign-ups will be held at the WACS cafeteria Tuesday April 13 and Thursday April 15 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  Registration fee is $25 per player; please bring a copy of players Birth Certificate to sign-up.  If you have any questions please call Ed LeBarron at 326-2498.  Volunteers are always welcome.

Bella Weakland Fundraiser

A benefit for 10 year-old Bella Weakland, who suffers from terminal brain cancer, will be held at the Westfield VFW Post #6764 on Saturday, April 10 beginning at 5 p.m. For $10, guests will receive roast beef sandwiches with sides and either two draft beers or soft drinks. There will be a 50/50 drawing, basket of cheer raffle, Chinese Auction and music. For tickets, information or to make a donation, please contact 1st Lt. Ripley Library Computer Classes

The Ripley Library will offer Beginner Computer classes beginning on Tuesday, April 13th at 10 a.m.  We will meet for four consecutive weeks.  This will be a basic class showing you how to use the mouse, write a letter, make a flyer, travel around the internet and set up an email account.  Space is limited so register now by calling 736-3913.

Westfield water main flushing

Water main flushing will begin in the Village of Westfield on Monday, April 5 at 7 a.m., and flushing will continue until 3:30 p.m. daily until April 23 or until the flushing is finished. Flushing of Westfield’s water mains will begin on the south side of the village, moving in a northerly direction, ending with the West Route 5 Water District. Flushing will cause roily water. Residents should stock a supply of water for drinking and cooking before flushing begins. Care should be taken not to draw the roily water into hot water tanks, heating systems and especially clothes washers.

Wind Project Public Hearing

The Towns of Westfield and Ripley will hold a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Ripley-Westfield Wind Power Project. The public hearing being held in Westfield on Tuesday, Apriil 13 and will start at 1 p.m. and continue until the last person who wishes to speak has been heard.
